Joining a team at St Matt's is one of the best ways to settle into the church family, make friends, have fun, and be a blessing. We'd love everyone to play a part in this adventure. There are so many ways to get involved whatever your age, stage or background. Get stuck into something for term or season with as little or as much time commitment as you have. We've put a few ideas of teams you might like to join below, but if you have not yet done so, we'd love you to attend one of Join The Adventure sessions to discover everything else going on at St Matt's.

Alpha Team — The Alpha Course is one of the main ways people come to faith at St Matt’s, so every term we gather as many people as we can to explore Christianity in this relevant and relaxed way. The team includes those who bring guests, set up, lead groups or are just great hosts.

Creative Team — In an ever-changing culture, we need people who can communicate the faith in fresh and engaging ways. There are many platforms for those with creative flare to work alongside our worship and production team, bringing our services and events to life.

Facilities Team — Our Operations Director is always looking for more skills and hands to work on various projects that will continuously grow our church in excellence and capability. There is also a lot of work behind the scenes work involved in maintaining and developing the site.

Hosting Team — One of our most important teams! For people who love connecting with new people, linking them up with others, playing a huge role in the environment everyone experiences at our events and making sure everyone has a nice hot cup of coffee and a tasty treat.

Kids Team — We have a number of age-appropriate groups running every Sunday and at special events — from babies through to mid-teens. Our kids leaders have an absolute blast as they invest in our children through all sorts of videos, games, music and stories, bringing Jesus to life in their lives.

Prayer Team — For those who support and bless our community by praying for them and with them, mainly at Sunday services. We want everybody at St Matt’s to feel comfortable praying for one another whilst we offer further prayer ministry training to those particularly gifted in this way.

Production Team — A team we train on a range of audio, lighting and visual technology, enhancing the worship and church experience, ensuring the smooth-running, accessibility and excellence of our Sunday services and other events.

Small Group Leaders — Anyone can lead a Small Group by identifying something they’d love to do and asking a few others to join them for the term. Perhaps going surfing, delving into a book of the bible, a regular meal, a parenting course or helping neighbours with gardening.

Worship Team — A group of passionate musicians and singers (even DJs, poets, songwriters and dancers) who have been auditioned to lead our Sunday worship and other events, preparing the way for people to encounter the presence of the living God.

Youth Team — Our older youth are 14-18 years of age and meet after The Six service every week to hang out, experience faith in engaging ways and discover what it means to live out that faith in today’s world. This team run the nights and arrange other special events throughout the year.
